With more than a dozen of projections models of COVID-19, it can be difficult to follow multiple models of projected number of deaths. One model could combine them all.
Nicholas Reich, a bio-statistician at University of Massachusetts Amherst, developed a model to compare and merge the diverse models of the disease’s progression into one “ensemble” projection. As parts of the U.S. relax or reinforce stay-at-home orders, the model projections change. Currently models forecast a cumulative death toll of 110,000 through June 6.
