Going hard on your workouts are great, but recovery is also important so you can level up to your personal best. Here are some actual rest day “workouts” for active recovery to help your heart, muscles, and nervous system build a better you.

Rest day “workouts” are actually a break from high-intensity exercises that allow your muscles to recover and heal. This doesn’t mean sitting in a lounge chair with a recovery meal and drink. Being active with low-intensity activities keep the heart, muscles, and nervous system going, and typically these exercises are done at a level where you can still hold a comfortable conversation with someone. Great examples of this are stretching, walking, slow jogging, hiking, biking, yoga, dancing, swimming at low-intensity.

Give yourself a break to become a better, fitter you.
