Vaccines are a way for the body to produce antibodies. Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna use new technology using mRNA, which has been proven safe and effective. Here’s what to expect when you get the vaccine.

CDC and FDA have deemed safe for use of both vaccines. Both vaccines do not contain the actual virus, but instead use mRNA technology that stimulates the body to produce antibodies to fight COVID-19, but does not alter DNA in any way. Side-effects are a positive sign that the body is producing antibodies, and some common side effects from the initial shot are pain and swelling. You may also experience fever, chills, tiredness and/or headaches.
