Washing hands regularly, wearing a mask, and social distancing are three simple behaviors that can keep COVID-19 at bay. CNN reports PLoS Medicine published models this week that research the spread of disease, and outlines preventative behaviors to help slow down the coronavirus pandemic.

These three simple actions can stop most spread of the pandemic without a vaccine or additional treatments. Good hand hygiene and social distancing can dramatically reduce the virus outbreak. While it will not completely eliminate spread in small outbreak in a household, U.S. experts such as CDC, NIH, HHS and more stated that wearing face coverings can dramatically reduce the spread of the pandemic spreading more broadly in a community and help prevent another shut down.
